We are primarily interested in three pools of candidates to join the European Asia House:

Business school students
You are pursuing - or have recently complete - an MBA or other advanced business degree.

Advanced professional degree candidates
You are pursuing an advanced degree - such as a Master's, PhD, law or medical degree - or are in a post-doctoral or medical residency program.

Experienced professionals
You have significant work experience since obtaining your degree.

Depending on your educational background, practical experience, and performance during the recruiting process, your entering position for the Asia House Program would be either Fellow or Associate.

McKinsey consultants are the best-in-their-class from the finest universities and business schools in the world. For the European Asia House program, we seek highly qualified graduates from top schools. We expect outstanding academic degrees and timely graduation.

You do not necessarily need a degree in business to join McKinsey. We are interested in people from all disciplines. In fact, nearly half of our consulting staff has a degree in the natural sciences, the humanities, engineering, law, or medicine. The diverse backgrounds of our colleagues - both academic and cultural - is one of the reasons why McKinsey is such an exciting place to work.

To join Asia House, we expect excellent communication skills in English and at least one Asian language (fluent or native fluency). We define fluency as being able to give presentations and lead a business meeting, as well as being able to read and write in that language. To be able to liaise at an appropriate level with the client, you should also bring the cultural and educational background from one Asian country.

Our candidates have preferably already lived on both sides of the "bridge" - both in Asia and in Europe or North America. Candidates interested in the European Asia House program in Paris should additionally be proficient in French or have a French educational background.

To take part in the Asia House Program, candidates should already have gained some practical experience in an international environment. We consider relevant experience to be any work, MBA/university project or internship resulting in a deep insight into an industry or function, ideally focusing in strategic areas and challenging your analytical skills.

The most important qualification for the job, from our point of view, is a rigorous, fact-based way of approaching problems: to question the value of what has been achieved, to work on a solution until you feel it is the very best - and then to approach it again from a new angle and find an even better one. A high level of creativity or a broad range of talents can also be a decisive factor. We expect our candidates to have demonstrated their leadership ability in various academic, work-related, social or political engagements. Team skills and personal integrity are a must.
