As one of over 80 McKinsey offices worldwide, the European Asia House in Frankfurt provides top management counseling and consulting services to European clients with Asian business interests, activities, and ambitions, and vice versa. To that end, we strive to develop and deepen distinctive knowledge on cross-continental Asian and European topics and have created an integrated pool of passionate, truly "Euroasian" talents supplying cross-border business perspectives and intercultural competences on an ad hoc basis.
Offering client service complementary to McKinsey's regional offices as well as its industry and functional practices on cross-cultural and cross-continental challenges, Asia House offers much-needed connectivity in an ever-faster globalizing world.
The Asia House concept has proven to be a successful one. 3 years into its conception, the Asia House program has similarly been rolled out in the McKinsey Paris Office to offer distinctive support to our French clients with regards to their Asian needs/business.
A word from the Asia House Frankfurt Office Manager, Dr. Jochen Fabritius:
"Every country and every market is unique, and a key task for all globally active enterprises is to find the best solutions for each specific area. McKinsey & Company consistently strives to be the most effective and proactive advocate for supporting clients who are faced with such global challenges.
With Asia becoming a focal point of the world economy, many Asian companies are intensifying their activities in Europe just as European firms are reaching out to the Asia-Pacific region. McKinsey established its first European Asia House office in the summer of 2004 to help Asian companies enhance their European business endeavors, and vice versa. Our consultants, more than 80 percent of whom are from China, Japan, and other Asian countries, pursue solutions to top management issues that span the two continents.
The rationale is obvious: World trade is on the rise and Asia with its notably populous markets will drive this development - mass multiplied by speed. In tomorrow's professional world, this interlinkage will become much more immediate. M&A, procurement, global footprints, or R&D clusters along with the communication pipelines of global trade and financial markets will demand a new consulting model. Those who have experienced and those who are experiencing the medley of European and Asian cultures will stay ahead of this development with international client service teams at the client site.
Asia House aspires to be the preferred consulting partner for Asian companies in Europe, as well as for European companies on their way to the Asia-Pacific.
Having built Asia House on the notion of connectivity, we are naturally focusing on challenges across regions for outsiders. We see our mission as being to serve global and globalizing clients. Today an international office with McKinsey-wide support, we would like to be a hub within an extended international community tomorrow.
By helping to integrate both Eastern and Western perspectives think creatively for reaching joint solutions, we are excited about playing a prominent role in bringing the businesses and cultures of Asia and Europe closer together."
